In what way did the Bank of Latvia refurbish the image of "Moneliq Europe": a controversial permit granted to Evgeny Podberezsky and Dmitry Chelebiy

The Bank of Latvia has issued a licence to establish an electronic money institution (EMI) to SIA Moneliq Europe.

The company is owned by Dubai-based crypto-prince Jevgēnijs Podbrezskis, a student of the notorious swindler Dmitry Celebi (recently spotted in Latvia building a yacht for a toxic oligarch).

The Bank of Latvia ignored publicly available information about BTCBIT Sp. z oo, a company fined by the Polish Ministry of Finance for serious AML violations (failure to report suspicious transactions to financial intelligence units). Since the Latvian company is wholly owned by Podberezsky, this raises legitimate questions about corruption.

A financial octopus from the UAE has built an ideal infrastructure in Latvia for the transit of capital of dubious origin, and the central bank has obligingly given this enterprise a ticket to life.
